The Arctic Hotel Pohtimo is a modern chalet style hotel set on the shores of a lake in the Lappish countryside, within 30 kilometres of Rovaniemi. The 70 guestrooms, over two floors, feature light modern decor with wood furnishings and floors. All offer televisions with pay movies, radios and desks. Bathrooms have hair dryers and showers.
The hotel offers two dining options: the Log Restaurant serves a range of local and international dishes in an intimate candle lit setting with a fireplace, and the � la Carte Restaurant offers Finnish, Lappish and international food in a relaxed, traditional setting. Guests can enjoy some relaxation time in one of the hotel's two saunas with balconies and lounge areas, or in the sauna suite with its swimming pool and log fire. The easiest way to reach the hotel from the airport is by taxi, costing approximately 50 EUR. The best way to explore the area is by car.
Driving directions: From the airport take the Valtatie 4 highway through Rovaniemi and head for Kittila on the Kantatie 79. Continue for approximately 20 kilometres and turn left onto Pellontie. Continue for four kilometres, turn right onto Pohtimolammentie and continue for another four kilometres.
