The Hotel Sofitel Lyon is housed in a modern, nine storey glass fronted block dating from the late 1960s, and situated in the centre of the historic city of Lyon, 100 metres from the Rhone River. The 164 guestrooms are decorated in muted tones and feature modern furnishings, including desks. All are equipped with high speed wireless Internet connections, satellite television with pay movies, direct dial phones, minibars and complimentary bottled water. Bathrooms include bidets, robes and designer toiletries.
The Restaurant Les Trois Domes, located on the top floor, affords panoramic views and serves modern French cooking, while Le Sofi Shop is a traditional French brasserie. The Museum of Decorative Arts is 200 metres from the hotel and Place Bellecour, the city's grand central square, is 500 metres away. Lyon Saint Exupery Airport is 30 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.

Driving Directions

Trains run from the airport's TGV station and serve many French destinations. A taxi rank is located in front of Terminal 1, level 1. A taxi desk is also located on level 1 in the central hall. A four line metro system and over 85 bus lines service Lyon its surroundings. Tickets for both systems are obtained at city kiosks, train stations, vending machines and from bus drivers. Lyon can also be explored on foot; Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la Republique traverse the central city and extend across the Saone River into Vieux Lyon.
