The Hotel Fitz Roy is a high altitude mountain hotel located at the foot of the Val Thorens glacier and ski area, 100 metres from the ski lifts. This four floor hotel features 39 guestrooms decorated in Alpine country style, with pine furnishings, beams and panelling. All have balconies overlooking the slopes or the village and include DVD players, satellite television, direct dial phones, minibars and modern bathrooms with tubs, robes and slippers.
Guests can enjoy complimentary access to the indoor pool and gym and relax in the steam room and sauna. A separate splash pool is provided for younger guests. Further relaxation comes in the form of a range of spa treatments using Japanese Kanebo products. The hotel lounge bar is centred round a large, open fireplace and features sofas on which to relax and take in the mountain views after a day on the slopes. The hotel's terrace also offers panoramic views, and the two restaurants serve speciality dishes from the region. Guests can keep in touch with family and friends in the Internet corner, and those with laptops can take advantage of wireless Internet access. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can arrange babysitting and dry cleaning services, look after valuables in the safe deposit box and provide room service. The hotel offers ski in/out facilities and is located 100 metres from the nearest ski lift. All kinds of mountain activities are on offer in the resort, including downhill skiing, ski trekking, snowboarding and snowshoeing. The hotel can also arrange paragliding, ice driving courses and ski and snowboarding lessons. The Val Thorens resort features a sports centre with tennis, squash, volleyball and badminton. Geneva Airport is 206 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of three hours.

Geneva Airport railway station is 300 metres from the Departures and Arrivals floors; trains stop at Geneva Cornavin (city centre) and run every 20 minutes. Aero Ski Bus also provides services from Geneva Airport to many of the French ski stations. The nearest railway station is Moutiers, 38 kilometres from the hotel. The resort is easily explored on foot. Cars are not permitted to enter the resort and must be left in the compulsory resort car park on the outskirts of the village.
Driving directions: From Geneva Airport, follow directions to France and Chambery. Head towards Alberville, then Moutiers and then on towards Val Thorens.
