The Kaiser Karl Hotel is housed in a traditional building set ten metres from Bonn's Old Town and 1.5 kilometres from the main shopping area and Beethoven's house. This four floor property features 42 guestrooms traditionally decorated in muted natural hues of cream, beige and brown with brass design features and light fittings, golden murals and antique furnishings. All include cable television, Internet connections, radios, direct dial phones, safes and minibars. Marble bathrooms are equipped with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries.
Guests can start the day with a buffet of freshly baked bread and pastries, fruit, fresh salads, cheese, cold meats and warm dishes, served in the light and airy breakfast room decorated with floral alcoves, Portuguese marble and crystal chandeliers. Coffee is also served in the lobby, where guests can relax on the white wicker chairs and browse the complimentary newspapers. Guests can plan sightseeing itineraries or keep in touch with friends and family via wireless Internet access, and staff at the front desk can book theatre tickets and offer advice on making the most of a trip to the city. In the evening, diners can sample Mediterranean fare in the Art Deco style bistro, which features original 1920s fittings imported from Paris, and relax with a draught beer accompanied by live piano music in the bar. Business guests can make use of three meeting rooms, each of which can accommodate up to 30 people and is installed with audio visual equipment. Other practical amenities include dry cleaning services, currency exchange, laundry facilities, room service and safety deposit boxes. Guests arriving by car will find a parking garage on site. The hotel is within 1.5 kilometres of many of the city's most famous attractions, including the opera house, Beethoven's birthplace and the historical buildings in the old town. Cologne Bonn Konrad Airport is 20 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

Regional and high speed European network trains serve the airport. Taxis are readily available outside Terminals 1 and 2. Airport shuttles are available to/from Cologne and Bonn every 15 minutes during the week, and every 30 minutes at the weekend. All transport facilities (bus, tram, tube and the RE (RegionalExpress), RB (RegionalBahn) and S (S Bahn) trains) can be used with compound tickets which are issued by the Verkehrsverbund Rhein Sieg (VRS). Train only tickets are also available. Ticket vending machines at Cologne's train stations issue both kinds of tickets. At tram/tube/bus stations, only compound tickets (VRS) are available.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A555 in the direction of Bonn and drive onto the A565 towards Bonn/Koblenz. Take the Bonn/Zentrum exit. At the Henrich Bol Ring roundabout take the second street on the right. Take the first street on the left (Vorgebirgsstrasse), continue for 600 metres and the hotel is on the left hand side.
