Boasting magnificent views of the sea, the Irini Mare hotel is set in spacious gardens at the foot of a hill. Its white stone terraces overlook the Bay of Agia Galini, and the beach is just a 100 meter stroll. The 72 guestrooms have a light contemporary decor with modern furnishings and balconies or terraces, most with seaviews. All rooms are complete with televisions, direct dial telephones, hair dryers, refrigerators, and centrally controlled air conditioning on a hour basis during high season.
Guests can bronze on the sun drenched terraces by the freshwater swimming pool, relax in the sauna, or enjoy a drink at the bar and watch the sunset over Agia Galini Bay. The main restaurant serves traditional Greek and international cuisine in a buffet setting, with modern decor and air conditioning, overlooking the gardens and pool. Guests can also enjoy light lunches, salads and ice cream at the pool snack bar. More active guests can make use of the onsite leisure activities, including a basketball court, playground, tennis courts, volleyball and two swimming pools. Those keen to explore can enjoy a picnic at Zaros Lake, 31 kilometers away. The inlet of Matala, 33 kilometers away, features one of the best beaches in Crete, and has artificial caves carved into its coastline. The nearest international airport is Nikos Kazantzakis 90 kilometers away.
