The modern low rise Creta Royal Hotel is set in attractive colorful gardens on the 600 meter long beach of Scaleta, 12 kilometers from the old town of Rethymnon. The 120 air conditioned guestrooms have a light contemporary decor in tones of maroon and beige, with elegant dark wooden beds. Some have balconies with views of the gardens. All rooms are equipped with cable television, direct dial phones, safes, and hair dryers.
Guests can swim in the pool, lounge on the sun drenched terraces with a cocktail at the poolside bar, and relax in the sauna before sampling the traditional Greek and international cuisine at the hotel's main restaurant. Crete has a network of regularly scheduled buses, although a hire car is useful for visiting more remote areas of the island. The nearest airport is Heraklion, 69 kilometers away.
