Location. The family run Hotel Metropole Suisse is located in Como, Italy, beside the main square. The cathedral is 200 metres away, and the cable car to Brunate is 300 metres from the hotel.

Hotel Features. With its name emblazoned across the top of the building and its situation overlooking Como's main square and the lake, the Hotel Metropole Suisse cannot be missed. Inside, light coloured walls combine with bare brick and modern sofas and furniture in the contemporary lounge. Multilingual staff at the concierge desk are available 24 hours to advise on local attractions or book sightseeing tours.

The Hotel Metropole Suisse's restaurant, Imbacadero, is a formal dining salon with original period details and antique style furnishings. It serves both regional and international dishes, has an extensive wine list, and opens its sheltered terrace overlooking the lake during summer. Driving Directions

From Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP):
Distance to Hotel Metropole Suisse is 30 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis to central Milan cost about 65 EUR 75 EUR. The Malpensa Express train runs every 30 minutes between the airport's train station and the city centre (Cadorna station). Single tickets are approximately 9 EUR, and journey time is 40 minutes. The Malpensa shuttle bus runs to Stazione Centrale (central station) every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. Shuttle services to other destinations, including Turin and Genova, are also available. Trains operate between Milan and Como San Giovanni, the nearest station to the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Hotel Metropole Suisse is next to Como's main square. Como is easy to explore on foot with pedestrianised areas in the old town centre. Taxis are readily available outside Como San Giovanni station and there are ferries for reaching other destinations around Lake Como. For exploring further afield, it could be useful to hire a car.

Driving directions. From Milan Malpensa Airport:
Take motorway A8 Como Varese.
Then A9 Como Chiasso.
Exit at Como Sud and follow directions to Como Lago, followed by signs to 'hotels' and finally to Hotel Metropole Suisse.
