Location. The all inclusive Catalonia Playa Maroma stands along the extensive Riviera Maya beach in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Playa del Carmen is located 14 kilometers from the hotel. Several historic Mayan ruins are positioned nearby.
Hotel Features. Dining venues include restaurants that serve Italian, Mexican, international and seafood dishes. The hotel's bars offer ocean views and refreshing drink specialties. Internet access is available for a fee. An expansive pool is divided into separate sections that cater to children's activities or to tanning and relaxation. A spa offers massage and beauty services, and a fitness facility provides cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Additional recreational options include a lively discotheque, a tennis court, archery, table tennis and a soccer field. The hotel provides lounge chairs, palapas and food and beverage service along its beachfront property. An on site dive center offers the services of certified PADI instructors. The supervised Kids Club entertains children with crafts and outdoor games, while the concierge provides assistance with local attraction information and restaurant reservations.
Guestrooms. This resort offers 376 guestrooms distributed among six , two and three story buildings. The rooms are decorated in contemporary Mexican style with terra cotta tiled floors, Mexican designed headboards, desks and chairs, and sunny color schemes. These air conditioned guestrooms are equipped with satellite television. In room safes are provided. Rooms include minibars. Balconies or terraces afford garden or ocean views. Private bathrooms feature showers.
Expert Tip. Complimentary transportation to Playa del Carmen is provided by the hotel three days a week, and is subject to availability. Seats must be reserved in advance.
